Re: Applications wont install, unknown reason

Just as a general FYI to all ROM flashers coming from a low-memory device like a Hero or G1: The hacked, SDcard version of apps2sd is no longer necessary. The EVO has a ridiculous amount of internal memory in the data partition and also can employ froyo's built-in apps2sd. By using the EXT workaround apps2sd, all you're really doing is putting unnecessary stress on your card and adding more breakable parts to the machine.

but app2sd gives option to move cache to sdcard or partition which can free up alot space
the a2sd function on froyo leaves some of the app on the fone
and not to mention the functionality has to be included by the developer
while app2sd does not need to have developer approval and app2sd has the entire app moved to sd cuz the fone sees the ext partition as the internal partition

So can you tell me exactly what you need all this extra memory for? I'm using the froyo apps2sd and have 159 apps installed and don't even have a low memory warning. What exactly are you doing that you need more than that? Or is it some vestigial nerd compulsion to have lots of memory for no reason?

i have 176 apps alot of which are gameloft 20+mb size .apk's as well as basic size apk's
without app2sd and cache moved to sd or internal partition i only have 64mb left
with app2sd andcache moved to sd or internal i hava 287mb left
seeing how bowser cahce and txt, call log etc etc are stored that 82mb doent last long before i need to clear space
without app2sd i would have to have less apps and who would want that

Touche. All I'm saying is, EXTapps2sd causes more problems than it's worth, imo.
