Advice on 3.70.651.1 RUU Download Link
 

I am currently running 3.29 stock, rooted with unrevoked. I cannot install the 3.70 OTA since I get the android with the ! triangle halfway during installation. I tried to turn S-Off back to S-On and then unroot, but that seemed unsuccessful. I searched threads for days now and cannot find any link to the stock 3.70 RUU. I don't want the already rooted deodexed or odexed ruu. I just want the stock one so I can install it from recovery and not loose any of my data. And once I have installed 3.70, I will just reroot with unrevoked 3.3.

Can anyone help?

Thank you for the quick reply. What is the difference from the top two 3.70 RUUs in the link you provided? Should I just pick the top one?

Will installing PC36IMG wipe my phone?

the 1st one is a .exe, which is ran from your pc

the 2nd one is a PC36IMG, which is ran from bootloader, and yes it will wipe your phone, as most PC36IMG files include a data.img

I just checked the stock .exe & it also has data.img. I'm not sure you're going to be able to install the stock ruu w/o losing data......unless you find the stock OTA which patches the files.

why not just flash the rooted stock rom?

if u really want to go the route you're wanting, I could cook a non-rooted stock rom, w/o the data.img or hboot.....I believe you would still retain root.

Hmmm.... The PC36IMG keeps telling me its a bad file when I try to run it from the bootloader. I will try to run the .exe from my computer.

check the md5 to make sure you got the whole file

I had that problem and wasn't able to do teh RUU either. Finally I just head out for a stock rooted ROM. You don't have to wait.

Check out Azreal or Sprint Lover's if you don't want to stray too far from the plantation.

i had the same problem at first then realized, you have to rename the file to just PC36IMG. and that fixed the issue. Thanks i have spent hrs on this issue. I am finally root free.
