Going from unrevoked 3.2 to 3.3
 

Im a little confused. I am rooted with unrevoked 3.2 and have not installed the OTA (Sprint). NOw that unrevoked 3.3 is out, how do I get the OTA on my phone and root with unrevoked 3.3? Thanks!

I guess if you really want to do the OTA you can follow the instructions to unroot 3.2 unrevoked, run the OTA and then re-root with 3.3.


Why would you need to do that? Why not just backup what you need with Titanium Backup (send the dev a donation), then install the ZIP update?

Is there any added benefit to being rooted with unrevoked 3.3?

Also make sure you use unrevoked forever.

As long as your already rooted why not install a custom ROM. But if you wish to stay stock, look for the rooted and deodexed rom in the updates section.

Guys Im on 2.10 and have rooted using unrevoked 3.3. I installed Titanium Back Up, Rom Manager etc etc what would be the next steps for flashing a custom rom?

yes flash a custom rom of your choice then load your apps

I loaded the OMJ's rom on the SD card but which file do I select in the Rom Manager from that folder?

I just tried to use unrEVOked 3.3 to root my evo and It gave me this strange error.
Error: failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?
this is what I have.

Hboot: 2.10
radio: 2.15.00.11.19
software: 3.70.651.1
hardware: ver 0003


...am I supposed to be in the HBOOT screen to use unrEVOked ?

you need to run the pc36img.zip and then use the unrevoked 3.3
