Replacement ear piece speaker

Does anyone know if Sprint can/will replace the ear piece speaker in my Evo? Is there anywhere I can buy one to swap out myself? It has become distorted all of a sudden. I have a full body shield on my phone and don't want them to swap out my phone unless they are going to give me another shield.

My friend tried to do this and they made him get a new phone. If you got your protector from Zagg they will replace it free you just have to pay S&H.

My wife just got her TP replaced with a TP2 because of a bad earpiece... She wanted the TP cuz of the flash... But they wouldn't fix it. They said they couldn't.

Yes they can. I got my earpiece speaker and my rear speaker replaced last week because they had both blown out.

How did you get them to replace it? did you have to make a warranty claim?
Both my speakers are blown out also.

Quick thought ... do any of you guys work in a profession where you have to grind on or machine metal materials ?

I am seeing quite a few " blown " earpieces and speakers .

The answer to the original OP's question ... yes the earpiece can be replaced.

yes i work in a machine shop and have to clean the metal shavings out daily. i have blown out 4 or 5 rear speakers on my evo so far but i have the warranty on it so they replace the speakers when they go out without question. just make sure to clean it before bringing it in. one thing i started doing was putting a tissue over the speaker to act as a filter for the shavings and it has worked so far as long as you clean it every few days.

Anyone ever hear of a holster to keep the crap out?

Actually the holsters dont work so well either ... I have been suggesting a zip lock bag or something of that nature.
