my 4g won't turn on

So since they finally lit up LA with 4g I decided to try it out. When I try to turn on 4g it just says turning on, but never turns on. I'm using OMJ 2.2 v 4.0. I have reflashed the ROM and no luck.

Re: my 4g won't turn on

A few things could be going on here. The area of LA your in may not have coverage yet. Does it say scanning or turning on? 4g doesn't work on the custom rom your using. Or you used clockwork mod recovery to do your nandroid back up and your rsa keys didn't get backed up and when you restored you nandroid back up your rsa keys were lost permanently breaking your 4g on your phone. Hopefully it is one of the first 2, because if your rsa keys are gone there is no fix except replacing the phone. Read up on it over at xda. And switch your recovery to Aman Ra to do a full nandroid backup before its to late.

when I hit 4g it says turning on and doesn't go past that. It doesn't scan. Is there a way to check if my rsa keys were lost? Any links for simple reading about the topic? Thanks.

Do a search on the xda forums there is a link that walks you through the steps to check your rsa keys. I would maybe try another rom too, I know Sprint Lovers rom works with 4g you may want to give it a try.

Re: my 4g won't turn on

Try this, click on Menu>Settings>About Phone>Hardware Information. Check your 4g MAC address. If it says 00:16:08:00:24:05 then you have a bad MAC address and it needs to be changed. Instructions on doing this are here and you must be rooted using Toast.

I am currently in this same boat and I have to reroot using Toast since UnRevoked doesn't have some of the features needed to modify the mac address. Good luck

Try uninstalling any widgets that have to do with turning 4g off and on. I installed switchwidget and it cleared right up.

thanks everyone. it looks like I ended up loosing my RSA

when i did
So good so far, now one more check:
c:\android-sdk-windows\tools> adb shell
# grep RSA /dev/mtd/mtd0

RSA-REPLY
RSA-REJECT
RSA-ACK
RSA-1024
RSA-REQUEST

ReRSA
RSA requests
RSA replies
-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----

it didn't have the

-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----

at the end. Looks like I'm going to have to go back to stock and take my phone in to sprint for warranty issues. Has anyone had a problem with sprint protection plan and the RSA key being wiped?
