Phone wont download file.. Content not supported
 

Im trying to download something from 4shared.com and when i go to download it says content not supported. So i download anyway and when the file is done, its a .bin file. Also wouldnt download any apps when i was using MIkandi also. Just got a new replacement and never had problems with my other.

Why did you need a .bin file your running android not windows mobile. The browser was right when it said content not supported.

When i download the file i go to look at it aNd its a .bin file. I never have had this problem before

No im downloading an .apk and when i click to download it says content not supported, so i go ahead anyway and download and when it opens its a .bin file. I have tried on many different things.

what are you trying to dl? what app plus post link to it. bin is what i use on epic but even if your running android on tp2 why a bin?

on a evo? i use astro file manager and theres a setting to allow you to dl using browser but thats on my epic, does evo use that app? in the market a xda member just made a app that allows you to dl any file and allows you to pick where to store it and i use that now.

will try but still werid it just wont allow. I deleted all the apps i downloaded since i was allowed to see if that helps

apps not free but i use it on epic and my girl uses it on evo and it does work. goodluck

I have this problem sometimes downloading mp3's from mediafire. All you need to do is name the file properly. if its an .apk name it "ewrerad.apk" etc

Have you tried downloading other file types? Just to test.

Last night, I downloaded Sprint Lover's Rom from RapidShare ~244MB. Of course it was a zip file. (PC36Img.zip) Took a while but I flashed my phone immedialy afterwards.

This is correct. Use a file explorer like astro and rename the file to something.apk.

I agree. I ran into the problem trying to download roms for the nesoid. I had to change the file ext. If you are trying to download an app and when it ask you to save as: get rid of .bin and change it to .apk

I used Download Buddy friday to download a 608mb file that I couldn't download before. The only issue was if I tried to change directory, it FC'ed. So I just moved it later with Astro. This was on 3g. Also, it failed twice when I was driving through the mountains and lost signal.

I, too, ran into this issue. I started to get angry cuzz it used to work. Now, it at times, download these .bin files. I tried to rename it with .apk - but still doesnt work. Anyhow, i tried to dl on 4shared and finally got it to work. after the count down, click and hold on the dl link and a pop up will show and you will download the apk or whatever file. hope this helps

Why didn't renaming it work? Its always worked for me using Root explorer or Astro. Glad you found a work around tho.
