What the...? All my text messages randomly deleted?
 

I have no idea what happened, at some point during the chargers/broncos game, my text messages apparently got so bored with the AFC West that they just left.

I have a rooted Evo 4G...was there an OTA update or something? Anyone else experience this?

Also, any suggestions as to how I can get them back?

If you are runnung Myns two point that could be problem/ Seems even apps delete by themselves.

This happened to me the other day too and my phone isn't even rooted. Will this happen again? What triggered it?

When I was on the stock rooted rom (3.29, odexed), I had this happen to me with the stock messaging app. I got a force close, and when the messaging app was reopened, all my messages were gone. I think the messaging database can only hold so many sms/mms before it purges itself. I just started using CM6, and using the aosp messaging app, so I'm not sure what that limit is.

Not sure if using Handcent will get around that issue, or not. I know before I went to CM, I had quite a few texts saved.

From the messaging click menu>settings. Check to see if you have the option to Delete old messages. I have that option but I'm using a custom ROM.

It happened to me once too, running stock ROM. I thought it had something to do with Swype. Hasn't happened again fortunately.

Nope not running Two Point...

No, I did not have the "Delete Old Messages" option checked...now ive set it at 300...

...its a crying shame, had some nice MMS gifts from the ex-girlfriend...crap.

You can got to http://pictures.sprintpcs.com and recover those gifts if they're not too old. If you need help let me know. :angel4:

Yeah it happen to me before also, I thought it was because I had to many txt. But now i have over 3500 with just one person and thats waaaay more than i had when it deleted everything out..so idk what triggered it
