VIDEO CAMERA PROBLEM FIXe
Just posting about an experience I had when I could no longer record videos on the EVO, but I could take pictures. I transferred some pictures and videos to a family members laptop and the laptop didn't initially recognize the EVO but it eventually made the connection. There was an error message after I unplugged the EVO, but I disregarded it since I had to leave. The next day I try to take a video and it doesn't work. After hard resets and doing all I can do I take the phone to Sprint and they can't figure it out and they just order another EVO for me. I get the EVO in the mail today and as soon as I install my micoSD I get the same problem. I re-formatted the card on the EVO (saved everything on my laptop first) and put they files back on and now it works perfectly.

Re: VIDEO CAMERA PROBLEM FIXe
SD cards are like HDD's (hard drives) without the magnetic properties and moving parts and of coarse, SD cards are removeable. Data is stored on blocks in sectors on both and sometimes they get corrupted by a bad install or uninstall reaking havok on other data that are sharing the same blocks and/or sectors.
I could write a huge paragraph explaining this technically but usually it's the simplest thing that's causing problems....hence, formatting your card to get those blocks/sectors put all back together in a pristine state. But glad you figured it out and good EVOing! |
Re: VIDEO CAMERA PROBLEM FIXe
Remember that you should never disconnect a usb memory device without first clicking the safely remove hardware icon and getting confirmation or you run the risk of corrupting your media, i.e. SD card, usb thumb drive, usb hard drive, your phone, etc.
