Activate EVO on Radioshack Emp Plan... HELP!!
 

So I have a Radioshack employee plan thats a few years old that my rep allowed me to keep. Everything has been great with it but of course I have to pay full price for phone, no upgrades.. well, I bought an Evo expecting to just add the 10$ charge and activate it but its trying to get me to change the whole plan.

I chatted with sprint online, on phone, and in store, but no one can activate it, and since I no longer have contact with the rep he cant make the changes.. Ive skimmed thru many forums and found a handful of people that got their activated but no one is talking about how they got it done..

Can anyone here give me some insite?

Here is what ive tried

Sprint Chat: Employee could only do the same thing as me online, supervisor refused to even talk about it
corp Store: Couldnt even bring up my acct, told me to call *2 customer service
Email: Sent email to a Sprint Indirect Account Executive, awaiting response
Email2: CCd that email with a Excel file for a Demo Activation form to demorequests@sprint
Phone: Have not called yet, awaiting email response


Anyone have anything they have tried that worked? Im gonna be pretty ticked off if I just spent 350$ on a phone that I cant activate on my plan.. That money could have paid my bill for a year.

Well, if you still have friends with The Shack, you could ask them for the rep's number. Contact him and let him know what you are wanting to do. He'll tell you straight up if he can do it or not. I know it's a him because I used to be the store manager for the store in North Richland Hills. Either him or a her. If he can't put EVO on the plan, get a new plan because since you left The Shack, not much he or her can do for you.

Do the research before you buy the phone.

No one is at fault but yourself here.

You still can return the phone I hope.

Hardliner, I may know you.. I used to manage the shack just down the road in front of Target.. Jesse Lyons was my rep when I worked there, but im not sure hes around anymore..

Ive posted this thread on several forums and im getting good bits of info from several people and I will compile all of it to tell everyone what worked for me. Itll take me a couple days to test everything ive got planned.

Bought the phone on Craigslist while I was OOT, but if this whole plan ends up being a total fail I can still sell it for about 90% of what I paid for it. Currently I have a Touch Pro with custom ROM and a Touch with android ported to it.. So it doesnt really matter what happens, I just really want to get it to work, sell my other phones off and recoup pretty much all of what I spent.

Problem is there is a lock down on plans "compatible" with certain phones. And they are extremely strict on this.

Did you try to manually switch out your phone online through the Sprint site? It usually just asks you for your ESN info to swap out phones..

NOTE: If you switch out of a GRAND-FATHERED plan, no matter what you do, you will most probably never be able to get that plan back... Not because no one would be willing to do it, but because the plan isn't available in the system to do so if they wanted to..

UPDATE.. Got it working!

Guy on another forum gave me a phone number to a Sprint 3rd party/Employee Account Customer service line, they changed my plan to the indirect employee demo plan no problem.. Just needed my phone number and my pin number..
