Will a factory reset undo root?
 

I rooted my evo using unrevoked and will be giving the phone to my dad who has no interest in being rooted. What is the best way to go about unrooting and going back to stock? Will a factory reset undo the root?

If you run the RUU, you will loose root though you will still be S-Off. Your Dad will be protected from hurting himself.

A factory reset will not undo root. There is a thread at xda in the evo android development section about unrooting. Your dad may never really notice that it us rooted.

There is no difference in feel between the 2. It may be beneficial to give him a stripped rom so it doesnt look as daunting as the stock one does with the crapware load

Factory reset will not undo unrevoked 3. Only a factory ruu rom will undo root. At least if you used unrevoked that is. Don't know about other root methods.

Hello I was wondering if you could help me with getting my evo back to factory settings because the root that my friend put on it will not let me access my market or even use my front facing camera. Please help me! LOL!!

Instead of unrooting your Evo ... you could simply flash the Sprint Lover's rom that is in the development forum. If you're unsure how to do that, pm me and I'll walk you through it.
