handcent lagging device???
 

has anyone else noticed that the touch input on the evo lags when I use handcent as my primary texting program? I have the pop up box set to only pop up when device is locked, and auto rotation on via pop up and regular… And when in portrait only sometimes the device lags, but almost every time I go to landscape it lags for the first few words… Is this normal? The regular message app doesn't lag at all… I would hate to have to go back to it seeing handcent is so nice!

its a 3rd party txt app .. just use the regular one it works just fine

I just started using it with cyanogen to fix the problem with more than 160 characters. However I am back on Calks rom and still using it and it works great and I experience no lag.

mine was a little lagy and when ever i closed it, it would take me to the 3rd from the right screen in Sence instead of back to home for some reason. i loved it too but i couldn't take that and went back to stock.

I get a lag w/the notification sounds. The popup will come up and the sound comes a second or two later. Annoying as hell. I'm rooted and have been trying different kernels. I uninstalled setcpu as well thinking this might be one of the issues. It's hit or miss with the tones though.

I switched over to chompsms, its just as good and no lag yet

Yea the lag is starting to creep up . It wasn't like that when installed on June 4. Im thinking its either 1 of 2 things:

1. All the Handscent updates are starting to lag the app.
2. I have too many text messages (7943 exactly).

I have around 700 text using handcent and I have no lag whatsoever..i usually delete when it gets around 300 just because im use to it (wm sense texting)

Wow, I have about 150 texts, sent and received combined, since 5/28 when I got this beast, and was worried I was turning into a 12 year old girl for so much texting. Guess I'm okay for now lol. No lag for me using Handsent yet. Using DC 3.2.3 on 2.1 still.

Haha yea that much texting for me is unusual but I doubt handcent is the problem op.
