Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

So unrevoked made a 1-click root for OTA 2.2 huh, that's bad ass... Hopefully final release comes out soon.. Or I can just do a few minutes of investigating to find this version floating around haha.. My brother just got his evo and I'm gonna root for him, but if there's a 1-click version out I'm definitely snatchin that up, other way takes to long lol..

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

I used the original 3.2 that was pulled and I rooted with no problems. I went from shipped 2.2 to rooted. It's really easy just install the driver and run the file and you're rooted.

For now you do need a pc. The only test build I found worked only on windows. Just follow the instructions to install the drivers and then when running the test build follow instructions in that screen. Mainly just make sure drivers are installed and htc sync is NOT installed on your computer.

You need to install htc sync fist. Set you phone to debug mode. Let the htc driver install. After htc sync see's phone uninstall just htc sync not htc driver. Next install the unrevoked driver public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki]. Follow that link. After you do that run the unrevoked. Good luck I have rooted 3 evos so far with no issues.

When you go to the site to download unrevoked it says doesnt work with 2.2 but everyone is saying it works for them. Any advice for me?

Make 100% sure you are running the unrevoked modified htc/android drivers.. make sure you remove htc sync and any other drivers before doing so as well.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

OK, crap, I have a Mac and was waiting for the new unrevoked build.

I've flashed to custom roms before on my ppc-6800, but if there's an easy, less-room-for-error way, I'll take it.

You guys suggest I maybe just use a friend's PC once the new build is complete?

Thanks

Yeah. For now only windows will work with 3.2. I'm sure a mac version will be released when it becomes final. I did mine on my wifes windows 7 computer. I myself have a mac but couldn't wait anymore. I wanted to be able to wifi tether without paying sprint an extra $30/m.

Thanks
