EVO backup Question

I came from a TP2 where we could backup the entire phone. I also realize there are backup programs that, if the phone is rooted can back up everything. I currently have tried mybackup Pro, and Astro...but what I really need is a way to back up everything except the OS .... so I can reset my phone back to factory settings. Try a couple of things and then restore back to the way it was easily and quickly. I have 5 email accounts on my phone and have to set them up after each reset and restore, I should be able to back them up. I am NOT rooted now... and would like to do this without rooting. We should be able to restore all the files needed over the top of the OS and be back in business, correct?

Anyone help?

Without rooting, I do not believe there is any one app that can do this. There are individual programs for backing up, txt, apps and system data and so on.

Why not just root, back it all up, unroot..??

Or stay unrooted and just use Sprite since you said MyBackup Pro didn't work for ya...

Re: EVO backup Question

Sprite is now out for many Android phones, but not the Evo yet. It looks like it will be close to being as comprehensive of a backup as it is on WM. SPB Backup is working on an Android version too.

You could try using lookout (the "antivirus") I know it backs up almost everything, I'm just not for sure about email settings. Worth a try if you don't want to root.

Re: EVO backup Question

Sprite Backup is what I have been using and it failed when I up'd to 2.2. The developer sent me an older release to use (have not got the nerve to use it) and that the new release should be sometime this month.
