Bottom keys light up before screen when turning display back on
 

Anyone heard of this? My friend said this is how his evo is acting (even after a hard reset) when pressing the power button to bring it out of sleep...
The bottom row of keys light up first, then the bottom of the screen lights up, followed by the rest of the screen.

The uneven screen glitching is weird to begin with... but for me, the screen turns on first, then a second later the bottom row of keys. His is in like reverse for some reason...

Something is up. I'm on Android 2.1 and he's 2.2 btw (he just bought his evo).

edit: just discovered that this is an android 2.2 thing... i finally took the plunge and installed it... sure enough, first thing i noticed was the 1 sec lag for the screen turning on after the keys light up. No idea why they think this is better than the screen turning on instantly first... sometimes I think monkeys come up with update ideas.

My bottom keys also light up a slit second before the screen! It started after the froyo update.

My Fiancee evo don't have the same problem (Running froyo)

My bottom keys also light up just before the screen does. Although im pretty sure mine has always done this, but I could be wrong.

If you guys want to do away with those bottom lights altogether go to the market and search for "LEDs hack" assuming your rooted Ofcourse .

Mine turn on a second before screen as well no biggie but screen doesn't act weird.

My bottom lights do that too if its been in sleep mode for a while. Otherwise if I had just put it into sleep and woke it up again it doesnt. I figured it was normal. As for his screen lighting up in sections, that seems odd.

Same here. After 2.2 update this behaviour began.

Mine does both, sometimes the keys then the screen and vice versa, but its really only a split second. I'd call you a nitpicker if you think thats an issue. I don't think this is a 2.2 thing because my phone always behaved this way. However if the actual screen lights up in defferent sections, thats an issue and your buddy should take the phone to a repair shop.
