Evo Twitter issue

Today my Twitter for HTC Sense stopped updating. It would say it was updating but nothing new would come up. So I tried removing it from the home screen and going in through the app menu. This did the same thing. So I tried to sign out and sign back in, now, it wont let me sign back in. It keeps saying that i put in the incorrect user name or password. I went online just to double check everything and even went as far as changing the password for the account and I still keep getting that message. Anyone have any other ideas. I did try to do a soft reset as well. I want to keep using this twitter app as I am not impressed with any of the ones in the marketplace. Thanks in advance.

If your talking about Peep... I have the same issue. I downloaded the Twitter app from the marketplace and used that. I don't know why peep stopped working...maybe HTC's check to the Peep people bounced...lol

It would appear that twitter have turned off their basic authentication API. My HD2 has stopped me downloading tweets saying that my account was forbidden to access the Twitter server. My account is fine (works happily through Tweetdeck and web), and it stopped working about the same time twitter turned off basic Auth. I've looked for a Peep upgrade with no luck so far :(

Agreed - this is not EVO specific. Twitter using the HTC app is not working on the Hero today either.

I just received my new EVO, pre-installed with Froyo 2.2 and my Peep won't login either. Not happy.

I don't personally use these apps just passing along what I read.

Sent from my Evo using Tapatalk.

A soft reset is turning your phone off removing the battery for about 30 seconds or more if you like and then turning your phone back on.

Yeah and unfortunately when I had called Sprint and HTC yesterday, neither had any clue as to what I was talking about. Hopefully this publicity will force a click in their heads ](*,)
