He was asking for an alternative; he obviously knew he could root his phone to get it. He specifically asked for a non-rooted application and with the responses that have been given, no one knows or there aren't any.

No, and I didn't mean to come off like such an ass, but I mean come on. Yes, I'm calling people out. Bundo. Boo Boo. Are you kidding me? Not just in this thread but go look at the posts they make. Half of them are just making the OPs feel like dumbasses for even asking for help. From what I've seen, especially from Boo Boo, is that she just calls people out for not knowing things that not even I know, and/or she makes a really smart ass comment (very much like Bundo) and people give "thanks" to them to amplify the smartass part of the comment.

I KNOW other people have seen this. And without a doubt, I'm sure these two jokes got some serious reputation for doing SOMETHING helpful for a lot of people, but they don't deserve to talk down to anyone and make them feel apart from the community. I've actually been seeing this since the Evo forum was created (no lie) but haven't said anything because its just an online forum ad I just click out to something else.

But something should be said and if it has to be me then so be it. There are a few others like them but I just think that you should go back to the basic rules when posting. If it's off-topic, don't post. And if it's a smartass comment or just plain being a bitch?....well, more power to you.

Look at the time of my post, and the post before mine - about 15 hours. I guess I should have just said "bump". No need for a humorous bump in your threads.

I do agree with you.
There are some in this community (not naming names, or implying anyone) that would rather flame and degrade a forum member than actually help. They take their opinion as the answer and flame you if you don't agree. in most cases just to up their post count.
My rant is over...

What's the reason why you don't want to root?
Not trying to be an ass, just a question.

Re: Taking Screenshots for Non-Rooted Users is a Nightmare! Any workarounds?

I rooted pre OTA 2.2 and loved it. But since 2.2, I haven't really had the need to because I found myself doing nothing different with an un-rooted EVO than with root. Yeah, of coarse, it has it's advantages and I will root again but for now, I'm good.

OP, honestly, the only way for you to do what you want is to root. I'm sure after a while though someone will have an app for that!

What gets me though is that Android is touted as being open source. Open source means it's available to be changed, manipulated, taken apart, etc. without recoarse by it's original developer. But it seems phone makers add their own proprietary software such as "sense" then lock the phone down requiring root to access it's functionality. I understand that HTC and such doesn't want rogue hacker a-holes developing software at will killing the experience, but honestly if they really want to, it's going to happen anyways. Just my two and a half cents.
