netarchy-toastmod-4.1.8-bfs-bfq-signed

ok. im fairly new to these custom kernels, so i hope no one starts calling me names.... i just installed the "netarchy-toastmod-4.1.8-bfs-bfq-signed" kernel on the 8-19-10 sprint lovers rom. by the way, great job everyone who put their work into all these things!

so how do i go on about customizing, overclocking, or just plain messing around with the kernel (possible?). im not sure if its a menu, or a setting, or do i have to get something from the market?

pretty much what im trying to say is - I installed it, now what(what can i do with it)?

thanks in advance

ps. almost forgot- they said it made the audio louder? is it already like that or do i have to do something to make it louder

I prefer cfs to bfs, but to each his own. If you want to overclock get overclock widget or setcpu from the market. Look around for profile settings, I told mine the other day on here. You can underclock when screen off for saving batt and overclock when screen on for performance.

Re: netarchy-toastmod-4.1.8-bfs-bfq-signed

Thanks. What did u like about cfs that made u like it better than bfs? are there major differences between the two?

Rager02 08-21-2010 10:13 PM

I use setcpu. I've tried cfs and bfs, to be honest I can't tell much difference if any.

Edit: I take that back..bfs seems a bit smoother.
Best advice try both and see what you like best.

Supposedly CFS is just as fast as BFS in 2.2. That is the reason Google didn't include it. Others have said that they don't agree. I didn't notice any difference. YMMV

personally I have found cfs to be smoother overall, but it could have just been a non clean flash of bfs.

I flashed the bfs and it removed some of my installed apps and would not let me redownload them. Anyone have this issue. I am running the the rom in my signature.

thats weird. i am running BFS and I dont get any lag on the keyboard. My data speeds are almost double compared to CFS also :headbang:

Boot into recovery wipe cache, and dalvik cache should clear your problem

Had the same experience. While my OC was more stable, things like dragging items and keyboard input was horrible. It was very noticeable when you first powered the phone on. It was like it took it a few seconds to get going. I don't run OC'd on a daily basis anyway, so CFS has been a much better option for me.
