I was using Netarchy and I ran King BFS with juice defender all day yesterday and I had 21 hours unplugged with what is normal day to day usage for me (10% battery left when I did plug in). And then a full charge in 2.5 hours, I am amazed.

a little off topic but where do i start with all the kernal hacking on my brand spankin new EVO 2.2...lol I'm very interested in the battery saving abilities in King's post.. I did notice that in the above image the android usage was alot lower than mine. On my Evo everytime i check it the android os is first on the list using the most percentage of power.. anyone care to explain all of this...lol

To start off you have to be fully rooted.which if you are not and have the official froyo there isnt a way to root yet.
