I think my auto-brightness sensor is on the fritz.

A couple of days ago I noticed that it gets dim and brighter every few seconds regardless of the surrounding conditions.

It started to really annoy me so I had to switch it off and use a fixed brightness.

Anyone else experience this before?

Yeah, I've noticed something, but assume it may be ROM related. It may be heat related too. Not sure, and not really worried about it at this point. Of course, I don't worry about scratches on my new cars either, life is too short.......

Re: I think my auto-brightness sensor is on the fritz.

It's called a proximity sensor that almost all phones have these days. My Touch Pro 2 does the same thing...Different lighting...fingers or face over phone will cause it to get brighter or dimmer....nothing unusual...helps with low light areas and brighter areas.

My Evo does it when I get a text message and don't go to the inbox, pretty sure its just a bug with handcent for me though. It stops getting brighter and dimmer as soon as I go to the message.
