Gmail contacts - can I default to a subset list?
I can't be the only one that wants this feature. I have a ton of contacts but I have a small subset that I actually want to see on my phone when I open up my contacts the first time. I want to have all of my contacts available for when I do need them, but I don't need to see the contact I have for my county's water center, etc.
I hope this makes sense. Has anyone figured out a way to do this? |

The best I can think of is going to People>Menu>View. Here you can choose to only show Contacts who have phone numbers or ignore the auto contacts created by gmail.

yup same issue here, however on winmo it will only sync the "my contacts" group.
maybe set up your your gmail account as a exchange account and only sync the contacts from there. |

I use the "Favorites Widget" on the Evo... actually, two seperate widgets, one for family members one for co-workers and other numbers I use at work alot. Dont see any reason why you couldnt create a group to drop the contacts you use the most into, set a Favorites widget to that group to work with those contacts. Then, when you needed to contact somebody not listed in that group, but in the main contact list, access them via the people app... just a suggestion, but it works for me

Re: Gmail contacts - can I default to a subset list?
I added a folder for "Starred" contacts for people I want to call on a regular basis. This works ok. I did this before I posted my question here but this isn't exactly what I am looking for. You guys can try that to see if it helps.
