Search bar not showing contacts ?
 

When i click the seatch button from the main screen and start typing a name shouldn't it show me contacts first then apps, then web ?

It's not happening on my evo (froyo)

The search bar is google search isn't it? Go to the market and download an app called "Gesture Search"...I have a feeling it will fit your needs better. I've personally have used it and I will never go back.

I figured it out... . you need to press the menu button then search settings and select the items to be searched.

It's weird but the all still doesn't show contacts, only when i select contacts from the pull down.

when you save contacts you have the choice to save them as google contacts or as phone contacts. if you save them as phone contacts they wont show up in the "google" search. Go through your contacts one by one and see if there are some that dont show google at the top. Im sure you can change them to google.

Actually i think it took some time for the phone to index the contacts (i use exchange)

But now how do you choose the order ? So it shows contacts first then web search suggestions ? currently it's showing the found contacts after it gives you 10 suggestions for web search.

If you want to search people just click the G icon and select people then search. I think you may be asking for a little too much customization out of this search app.

I dont know it's a pretty prominent part of the OS ...


Logically when you search it should first look for on the phone data then outside.
