Re: HTC Statement on Unofficial 2.2

I see the reasoning for rooting but I don't see the reason for rooting before this official update. Is everyone under the impression that this update will lock you out for good? Everything is breakable....I would think it will be done. I have spent a shit ton of time learning everything before taking any kind of plunge but I still don't see this one. LOL Maybe my brain is on melt down.

Edit: I also have gathered that most people with some type of bug or problem or error, or whatever you want to call a glitch on your phone seems to have jacked with the root functions causing these kind of hiccups. Just my thoughts here but I have not seen a true method to prevent problems.

.3 is what most of the people are running since this weekend...

.6 was released by HTC

liveimage.htc.com/OTA_Supersonic_3.26.651.6-1.47.651.1_releasem24cfnusi9dsrr6i.zip (this is just the update not a full rom and NOT ROOTED... yet)

From 3.26.651.3 to 3.26.651.6:
Radio is the same (2.15.00.07.28)
WiMAX is the same (26023_R01)
Kernel is the same
HBOOT is the same (0.93)
Recovery is updated, though

Should be rooted real fast :evil4:

I have read there will be a fix for the leaked update in a couple of day and they are the same but for a 4g thing which doesn't bother me yet due to there is no 4g here yet

Anyone who did the leak is assed out until HTC drops something for us to upgrade. Until then you are stuck on the leak. What 4g issues are you having? I'm on the leaked version and my 4g works just fine. Maybe you should reflash.

News from HTC about the leak version

Thank you for your email regarding your HTC Evo 4G. Individuals who have installed the leaked version of the device update are not eligible to receive the update. The leaked version is not an official release and there cannot communicate properly for the Over the Air (OTA) update. As such, you will need to return to an authorized Sprint Service center for your device to be returned to the original factory software. You will only be able to receive the update after this has been done.

To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number 10_SC___ENA___891.

Sincerely,

Dayton
