I see the reasoning for rooting but I don't see the reason for rooting before this official update. Is everyone under the impression that this update will lock you out for good? Everything is breakable....I would think it will be done. I have spent a shit ton of time learning everything before taking any kind of plunge but I still don't see this one. LOL Maybe my brain is on melt down.
Edit: I also have gathered that most people with some type of bug or problem or error, or whatever you want to call a glitch on your phone seems to have jacked with the root functions causing these kind of hiccups. Just my thoughts here but I have not seen a true method to prevent problems. |

News from HTC about the leak version
Thank you for your email regarding your HTC Evo 4G. Individuals who have installed the leaked version of the device update are not eligible to receive the update. The leaked version is not an official release and there cannot communicate properly for the Over the Air (OTA) update. As such, you will need to return to an authorized Sprint Service center for your device to be returned to the original factory software. You will only be able to receive the update after this has been done.
