It is the official rom. and you will not lose root.

You can now record with the camcorder.(see i promised you all i would fix it by the weekend)

Follow these instructions word for word AND MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS ABOVE 75% AND YOU HAVE TO WIPE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DATA/FACTORY RESET. CACHE. AND DALVIK CACHE!!!!!!!!!!

1.DOWNLOAD ALL THREE ZIPS
2.FLASH THE ROM
3.BOOT INTO THE ROM AND TURN IT OFF AFTER YOU GO THROUGH THE SETUP
4.BOOT INTO RECOVERY
5.FLASH THE RADIO
6.REBOOT AND LET IT FINISH
7.FLASH THE WIMAX UPDATE
8.REBOOT AND LET IT FINISH
9.IT SHOULD SEND YOU INTO THE ROM
10.ENJOY

If you can not start 4G on first boot, restart. if you still cant, then wipe and flash the ROM ONLY!

Lastly, i can not be blamed for bricking or anything that may happen. follow my instructions and you should be set.

If there are any little issues, i will address them at a later time. i have had one hour of sleep and worked all day. im sorry but i dont care right now http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Quirks-not all applications will show up in market. this will be fixed after google adds the evo to the database after release.

- i did not install busybox because of 4G issues. CLICK PROBLEMS? ON TITANIUM BACKUP TO ALLOW IT TO INSTALL BUSYBOX

Good lookin out. With the impending release of the official Froyo I didn't expect Ava to finish V3 so I stopped checking.

According to Ava this is the official rom sprint released it today online and he rooted it and posted it!!!

No read over at XDA this is NOT the official ROM. The official won't come out till Tuesday. His is an earlier release and it looks like he stripped out the 4G and Sense and put them in his existing Froyo ROM.

also the official has been released online... maybe it's just OTA updates start on 8/3?

you'll need to use the sendspace mirror as the primary link is down already. but then again, i wouldn't install that one b/c it isn't rooted.

It's based off of it. When you run it, it actually looks like its from the carrier. It's pretty solid on its own

excuse me OMJ i just watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Po1V...layer_embedded that is showing a EVO running Froyo im not sure from where that guy got it but at min 1.08 you could watch that is the same than xxxxxx.1 not .3 im repeat im not sure if its the official release

Although its not the same build as the release, it still works awesome. I went this route so I don't lose root. Going great so far. Seems every changes are in there so it's good enough for me...for now anyway. Lovin it!

AS I understand it, The LED notification (charging, etc) and MMS doesn't work yet, and there are a few folks reporting issues with 4G.

I'll wait till someone conquers the Official Release.

I've been working on it, but not having much luck. tonight's leak is not a full ROM. It merely patches the stock 1.47.651.1 ROM, so it's trickier.....I was hoping to have a rooted stock ROM tonight but it's not looking good....and since we have not seen the xda pro's release a rooted stock rom, it's gonna be alittle harder.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not knockin Avalaunchs Froyo ROM, props to him, I just think it's abit misleading that it's based on the official ROM

Every thing is working on this ......Only problem i have is it want wifi tether ....any fix for this.....Thanks i am useing pda net rite now ....need my wifi...

OK, so if this new rom retains root, why can't we WiFi Tether?

Also I say wait one week or ten days MAX until a custom ROM is based off of the "official" 2.2.
