HELP Please
 

I just got my Evo this month (July) it came with the 2.1 and they did the update. I would like to root my phone but everything I tried from Unrevoked3, 1 Click, 3 Click and 4 Click all give me same message. "Main version is older than what I have". Am I missing something? Apparently I am but getting frustrated trying to root my phone. Can anyone please help or point me to a link that can. Thanks and thanks to everyone at PPCGeeks for all your work.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720565 I used these steps.start fresh erase the pc36.img from sd card, and other files you dled to root.factory reset phone than give simple root a try.

you should be able to do the rooting method stickied at the above threads on how to root. read down to part 5 ( i think)

just read up how to go to pre-ota version and then root, then get a rom w/ the ota in it.

How do you do a factory reset to the Sprint HTC Evo?

Settings/privacy factory reset.
