Syncing with the computer?

Not sure what to even search for without getting a whole lot of diffrent things so here goes.

I want to sync my phone like I did with my tp2 to my computer. I can connect to the computer and explore the SD card but when I connect I cant explore the Evo's memory which just sucks. So help me out please

Thanks, Thomas

It's not accessible. It has 1 GB of internal memory, but that's basically reserved for the OS and apps.

If you want to sync your contacts, calender, etc, to your computer, you can install HTC Sync (it's in a folder on the SD card, or you can download a newer version from HTC's web site)... but as far as accessing the phone's internal memory, as already stated, it's not really accessible (if you're rooted, you can use an adb command shell to see the contents but you can't do it in Windows Explorer like you can w/ WinMo phones).

Crap! Wonder what reasoning they had behind this decision. My old windows phones where more open then my rooted evo. The evo is great but I really hope windows brings something to the game its simply the only platform that can do anything and everything all the other phones can do and then some. The nicest thing about andorid is its finger friendly. I hope to never see a stylus again lol. Not nocking andorid, its pretty awesome. There are pros and cons to all the diffrent OS's.

I'll say this now, good luck with this, may the gods be with you. This is quite possibly the shi**iest software out there.

HTC should be ashamed of themselves for releasing it. I can tell you from personal experience that I spent days trying to figure it out. Others have spent innumerable days trying to get it to work. It may work for you, but mostly likely not.

If you think I'm being negative, I suggest you go and check out HTCs own support forums about this godsforsaken software.

Well I have to say that I have HTC Sync installed on 3 different PCs and have used it with 3 different phones (2 Heroes and 1 EVO) without a single issue. This includes synchronizing hundreds of contacts and calendar items. I wish I could sync tasks and a few other things, but I knew the limitations going in, so I'm not too disappointed. With the popularity of all of these Android handsets, the sync software is sure to get exponentially better... I hope.

I'm just curious, what exactly are you wanting to access in the EVO's internal memory? Pretty much all the apps store all their data on the SD card, AFAIK. The internal memory just stores the OS and the apps themselves...
