Can't sync contacts from my phone to gmail
 

Hey all,
I just got my evo less than a week ago. I had my contacts removed from my Touch (windows mobile) and put onto my EVO while at the Sprint store.

Prior to getting my EVO, I had also made a CSV file of my contacts from my windows mobile from a 3rd party program, and imported it to my gmail account thinking that they would sync with my phone when I picked it up. I didn't know that they would be able to take my contact from my old phone and put them on the EVO at Sprint.

Anyway, I don't think that my contacts that were placed on my phone from my old phone ever synced with my gmail account.
I even added names onto my phones and it never updated on my gmail account.
I have gone as far as totally deleting the gmail account contact list, and syncing my phone to my gmail account and nothing happened.
Nothing added to my gmail account and nothing removed from my EVO.

My question is: How can I transfer my contacts that were put on my phone in the Sprint store back to my currently empty gmail account. Is there some setting that I am missing?

I have tried MENU>SETTINGS>ACCOUNTS & SYNC and I pick my GMAIL account and hit SYNC NOW. It syncs for a few seconds, then nothing.
Nothing shows up on my GMAIL account when I log onto it from my laptop.

I hope this makes sense.

Any help would be appreciated.

There Is only one way to sync them to google. Export to sd card then plug card in to computer. Log in to gmail on computer upload contacts browse for the cv file and your done lol

When the contacts are transferred via the cellbright machine they are saved as "phone" contacts and are not synced with Google. You could do as the previous poster suggested

My contacts are so screwed up now. On my phone it says I have 500 on phone and 700 in google. Is there a way to just start all over?

Try resyncing from Google to the device. Delete the gmail accounts on the device ONLY and resync, I know on Google you can search and merge and delete duplicate contacts.
