About to ROOT....maybe

i am so close to rooting but after reading for days i am STILL left with worries and questions and would greatly appreciate any input.

1) Whats the difference between unrevoked and the full root, or is there any difference? I am mainly concerned about the ability to undo if i don't like the root which seems impossible?... also is unrevoked available after the latest OTA?... which really f%$*#d up my phone.

2) Everyone says the ROMS are great but ive heard it all before on the TP2 the TP and the vogue and NO matter what there will ALWAYS be some MAJOR issue with a custom ROM.....so what are the issues....

3) i really want to ROOT.... please convince me lol and ALSO i dont think it is wise to download the wifi tether from the marketplace in the event i root, does someone have a link to download it from elsewhere?

THANKS FOR ANY ASSISTANCE....

I just did this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915
Basically you end up with a stock phone with the OTA update, unlocked NAND, and rooted. Read that whole thread for more information.

Why wouldn't you wait for a properly rooted official Froyo? You can imagine the official one will plug even more holes than the last OTA. Patience.....................

Re: About to ROOT....maybe

jiqqaman just released a no hassle 4 button click application to root the latest OTA.

and im on the verge of rooting and doing the custom rom thing.. BUT!!!
i feel like i havent had enough time to enjoy this whole new android experience.

im coming from windows mobile and this whole ordeal of flashing roms is highly complicated to me. its like i dont even feel like reading, worrying, and keeping up with all this stuff.. im so stuck on downloading a windows mobile ruu and letting it do all the work... now its just a hassle it seems..

on top of that, i feel like the stock rom is super fast anyways, no need to really do any customizing and worrying if features are broken or not.. I want everything working on this phone, and thinking in the back of my head that something could be bugged out or broken would stay in my head forever.

im on the teetering edge myself, and im just like.. "meh, should i wait till an official froyo or jump right in"

i dunno.

i dont think i'll root and flash a custom rom until i see.. a 2.1 with fixed FPS and less compressed hd recording, OR, a 2.2 froyo with everything working and fixed. i think i'll stick with that mentality for a while, or try.
