Wow lol, I sware I called and had them document it. The first tier call screener for tech support (Brandon) even admitted this being a known issue (at least to him) and transfered me directly to a tech to order a replacement, but the tech didn't know what I was talking about, thankfully Brandon did note my account.

I told the tech, no worries, I am a bit of a loud mouth when it comes to getting people to know about a real problem with anything I own and will try my best to get the word out. :laughing6:

I did go to my original pre-order store. The Manager said that he wasn't aware of this issue, took my phone to talk to his techs. I looked at the tech room, about 6 were fondling my defenseless phone like a stripper at a bachelor party (reminded me of night at the roxbury). Everyone wanted to get a first hand look at the "defect".. My Poor girl, when I got her back I wiped her down and put her clothes back on.. Manager says, ok I am gonna put you down on the new replacement waiting list.

EDIT: Seriously though it's not a huge issue, but again if at only 30-ish days this is the result from normal use, what will these look like in 3 to 6 months, let alone last 'til the end of my 2 years? And I know many if not all of us really like this phone and baby the F outta it.. At least my HTC (Apache Joysticks broke, Mogul Rocker/Dial broke on 2 units), but my Vogue, Diamond, Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2 never visibly physically broke..

I don't have the crack either and when I press in the general area I see no give in the plastic. I wonder if this is a VERSION issue? I know there are different screens and I wonder if the screen hardware is different inside the phone causing a lack of support in that area. I have the XXXX screen. I can't remember the name I will have fill it in later.

I had the same crack identical to yours before I returned it. Looks like you have some screen lifting too.

This sucks...I have not dropped my phone except one time and it was in a pouch and only fell about 2ft onto a rug. When this thread started I checked my phone and was very happy I did not have a crack.... was just looking at my phone today and noticed a crack, in the same place. I bought my phone (out right) from Radio Shack on the day they were released. I have Sprint insurance...but don't think the crack is worth $100. So it looks like I will have to live with it.

You can't really see it so no one knows it's there...except me. And now that I know...I can't stop looking at it....ahhhhhhh!!!

I have a small crack by the volume button that hasn't reached the screen but its getting there. What is the worst case if it reaches the screen? If we exchange it it will probably come back after a few weeks.

I dont have that problem. It looks to me like the phone has been dropped. or you cracked it yourself trying to hit the power button
