No Sense?

I did a quick search and didn't exactly find what I was looking for, maybe Im just an idiot haha

but is there a way to disable sense and run the standard android on the Evo? Without having to do any roms and getting into heavy modding?

I dont know how to do that stuff, and idk if I wanna take the chance of screwing my phone up, plus i have OSX, not windows, idk if that makes a difference on doing this stuff

Re: No Sense?

The standard Android? You do know that Sense is just a widget, right? Touch it, hold down, then drag it to the trash. You can always add it back later if you want, the same way you'd add any other widget.

sense is an overlay not a widget, depending if you have updated you used to be able to go to settings-applications-htc sense-clear defaults. then hit the home button, if not you might need to download a different launcher, i use launcherpro from the market

Wtf are you talking about?
OP sense can't be disabled only the sense launcher can be disabled (without loading custom roms)

lmao I read that and was like wtf... to his credit I think he was talking about the sense clock on the homescreen even though it was still a fail.

Re: No Sense?

Sense UI is built into the Sprint ROM, quite heavily. The only way to remove it, is to root the phone and flash a ROM that doesn't have it included.

If you don't try it, you'll never figure it out!

It's really not that hard if you follow the step by step instructions. You can also break each step down and figure out what it does to the phone if you're so inclined.

Re: No Sense?

In all honesty, im very interested but im the kind of person that isn't confident enough to do it without someone physically showing me, or talking me thru it. just reading straight text kind of scares me, i know im a wuss :-\
