is the update safe?
My phone has come 2 times for the update but i keep hitting cancel, i have read that the update was pulled due to issues. I know that if the phone is rooted it will unroot it.
I have stock phone so anyone try the update yet? and i know if it gets stuck on the boot screen just leave it and let it do its thing. |
Re: is the update safe?
All I know is if I could go back and undo the update, root, then update with the root intact, I would... Otherwise, yes the OTA update is now completely safe... but at least use unrevoked's root...

Re: is the update safe?
Unrevoked issued a new patch, with the OTA made safe, about an hour or so back. It's only for those of us who knew not to do the original OTA.......

Ok doing update now, it says System update ( paused) with the lines going, is this supposed to happen? if so how long does this go.

No issues here, then again I haven't rooted or felt the need to, I do see a great improvement in reboot times....before it was horribly slow, now it is almost instant

Re: is the update safe?
The only issues I had with the udpate was several apps/widgets didn't load on my home screens after it rebooted. I just removed them and put them back. All apps I have work and all is fine.
