Official 2.2 Update for Desirre in next 2 weeks. Good news for EVO???
 

I just saw this at xda. Looks like the Desire is slated to get an official 2.2 update very soon. Sounds like HTC has Sense 2.2 ready and we will hopefully see an update from HTC/Sprint soon.

Well considering that post was created 9 days ago does that mean the desire will get a froyo release this week? I kind of find that hard to believe but I guess we will see.

Edit: I just went back over there and didn't realize how long that thread was, after more reading it looks like it created more doubt for everyone more than ever before.

I did read on engadget.com that the EVO will get a minor update soon and a 2.2 update sometime after. They specifically said that the Hero and Moment won't be getting the 2.2 Froyo.

eh, dont forget htc has to accommodate all the sprint crap. we will most likely get our update at the end of summer like all the rumors have said.

Before my EVO I had a Touch Pro 2, Windows Mobile 6.5 came out in October and I didn't receive it till a painfully distant March. Then, when I did get the upgrade, it sucked hardcore once I got over all the Sense 2.5 eye candy. By then 6.5.3 was around the corner and chefs were cooking up 6.5.5. ROMs.

So if you want to talk about long waits from OEM to device I've been there done that. Though I'm sure a lot of you have dealt with the same. :)

Anywho, while I'm extremely excited for a 2.2 update I'm content with 2.1
It's funny because I cannot imagine my device being 4.5x faster lol. It's already so incredibly buttery smooth and apps seem to load up flawlessly. I can already tether, I use Opera Mini 5 instead of Dolphin and the Camera, gallery and home screen upgrades will probably be overridden by Sense. So the effect of that will be minimal for those who use stock.

2.2 is great, I'm excited. But I'll continue loving my 2.1 for now. :)

Evo = Best phone EVER made.
