Delay in powering up after powering down?
 

I notice often that when I power down, then go to power back up right away, the power button is like it doesn't work, but if I wait a couple of minutes or so, it powers right up. I haven't timed where the "break point" is, but it is there. Is it possible that the phone is doing some kind of memory-dump/write or something after appearing being powered down, and won't restart until it's finished?

I experience the same thing, I get slight anxiety whenever I do a reboot

Same here. I don't reboot often, maybe every few days... but when I do, I have already run unrEVOked at some point, then a reboot app from the market will work when I want.

You really only need to wait about 5 seconds... this is normal for a linux OS... even though it looks powered off it is still shutting down.

Wow...if you do this with your home PC...I'm afraid....it's not meant to be powered off then right back on....if you were to do that to your PC computer...your hard drive wouldn't like you.

I always just attributed it to need to completely shut everything down and after thats done you are able to start the reboot process.....im sure its no biggie ;)

I generally will kill everything before I shut down (the only time I do anymore). Otherwise, I have waits of a few minutes.

i figured it was normal for android... u dont have to wait minutes, more like 10 secs.

Thanks. Mine fits all descriptions - sometimes it powers right back up, at other times 2 or more minutes. Oh well, no biggie for now.

It takes awhile to shut down.
I didn't even notice an orange shut down light until after a recent hard reset.
