Re: No more 30fps cap!!!!

Oops! I guess I could have posted the link to the page with the post with the steps! Oh well, still makes for good reading.

Here's what to do:

1) Get a copy of Fresh v0.3 ROM and the God-Mode kernel and copy to SD card. (see links)

2) Phone MUST BE ROOTED with NAND Protection removed and recovery partition replaced.

3) Boot to Recovery mode (Pwr off, then pwr on with vol dn held down, select Recovery)

4) Wipe (factory reset AND Dalvik cache) and then flash Fresh's ROM.

5) Reboot and go through the setup screens (first boot will take awhile).

6) Go back into Recovery and then flash the God-Mode kernel.

7) Reboot.

If the right combo of components are present, then you will have a phone with the 30fps cap lifted! Credit to Toast for the kernel and Flip? for the ROM. This has only been tested to work with the Fresh ROM and as of now, there are no other ROM's that work with the kernel to lift the cap...for now...

Fresh ROM v0.3: http://geekfor.me/new-release/fresh-evo-03
Toast's GoD-mOdE Kernel: http://link.geekfor.me/godmodefreshhh
Full ROOT and NAND Unlock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705113

Please be careful with this as you can mess yo phone up...and if you do, no one is responsible but YOU! Have fun!!!

Re: No more 30fps cap!!!!

only thing is that it really doesn't affect 3d gaming much. since most the games i played never made it to 30fps anyways it doesn't help in my situation.

but great work by the devs either way. guys are doing better work on their free time than the guys getting paid (HTC). even though it's not a fix for my evo i'll still donate.

the snapdragon is pretty weak in the gpu dept - at least compared to the powervr in the droid and the gpu in the galaxy s.

it'll put a text file in your adb tools folder. search the txt file for epson or nova. that'll tell you what lcd you have
I generated the text file but I don't see either lcd make. Is it because I'm not fully rooted and just unrevoked right now. Because I do see a lot of permission errors in the text file. See attached.

I'm just guessing here, but did you enable the development step on your phone? all I saw in your file was mostly usb charging stuff.

You'll need to be fully rooted

Are you sure about that? or is the unrevoked method fully rooted?

I have the unrevoked method installed (Not toast's) and I was able to see my 003 was the novatel version

My fault. I thought it was pertaining to actually appling the new kernel lol. Unrevoked isn't full root though.
