Advertising in my Music? WTF
 

I am at work and happen to be listening to my mp3s on my storage card through the onboard music player. I am pretty engaged in trying to find an error in a formula for the past couple hours but was subconciously noticing what seems to be adds or some announcement of soccer activity between songs. After getting kind of suspicious, I concentrated on listening carefully after each song. Sure enough on que, after each song, I am hearing a foreign voice announcing soccer scores, players, matches, etc. WTF? I look at my screen and each announcement show up in my play list as about a 2 second file. Is this a part of all of those disclosures that get presented which each new APP download? Is this an inherent thing with the Android system or is it possible that my card is now corrupted. This is very annoying and quite alarming. I've been afraid to pull up any of my Credit Card or Bank accounts on my EVO for fear of getting my info and identity stolen. Is this a legit concern as I online banked on my TP2 everyday without reservation. Did any one else experience anything similar? Thanks for any feedback.

You sure you didn't download soccer clips or a soccer video game with audio files that the media player is picking up? Android doesn't insert ads into other programs. Ads are only in their respective applications if the programmer desires some compensation on free apps.

From what i understand the stock HTC player doesn't exclude folders, so like Mbai2 said it is probably a clip from another program.

Thanks for your responses guys, hopefully as you say its just audio files from another folder. BTW, do I have a legitiamate concern about the online banking in that Android is not safe to do this type of activity? Thanks,.

I never heard anything about Android's browser not supporting SSL. That being said if you're on a public wifi network then your information isn't as safe, but that is true with any device.
