Is the EVo really out of stock?
I just ran across this article that says that the Evo isn't really out of stock and that it was pulled so HTC could address three major issues (all of which have been addressed here). The interesting thing is one of those three issues is NOT horrible battery life:
http://www.ozcarguide.com/technology...oDDkoW4t7BsNvw Two are software related: 30fps video issue screen responsiveness And of course the infamous screen separation issue is the hardware thing they're looking into right now. Very interesting if true. |

You know, I was a journalist for years and never used a source called "word on the street." That's just basing a story off of rumor -- not even an unidentified source.
Not credible.

Re: Is the EVo really out of stock?
No battery issues, none at all here.. 30fps? TV is 30fps, movies are 24fps.. responsiveness, hum didn't know there was such issue..
With so many people wanting to buy/own an EVO, like us, they would buy it regardless, I doubt Sprint and or HTC would purposly hold back stock to prevent sales just for a fix, what they planing on doing with all the ones they've already sold.. Not buying it, their story that is... Love the phone, more than any other phone/device I've ever owned so far. -CC

Re: Is the EVo really out of stock?
I am not sure that is the case (although one would hope that the issues are getting fixed) based on the fact that the Evo was sold out within days of launch and many of the original sales were pre-orders. You can still find Evo's out there. I saw around 15 of them in the Sprint Kiosks in my local mall a few days ago. I am sure the issues will get resolved either way being that HTC is now aware and production of the phone will continue.
