Searching for a specific contact?
 

I don't know if this is a general Android question, or an HTC Sense question, or just an Evo question. This is my first Android device, so I don't know if they're all like this or not...

Anyway, how can I easily go to a specific contact? So far, the only way I can find, is to go into the "People" and then scroll through the list.

Is there really not a way to type "R" and take me to all the contacts that start with "R" or whatever?

I am hoping I am just missing it, which is entirely possible since I am an Android noob.

press "phone"
spell contact's name using number pad (if you were calling me you'd press 3722 which would spell Drac)

go to contact/people than press the magnifing glass to bring up search

Just push the magnifying glass button and start typing contacts name

There's a program called "Gesture Search" in the android market...which allows you to draw out or spell the name of the contact your looking for. As long as you have the program called "Barcode Scanner" installed you should be able to scan this image below and download the "Gesture Search" program...I believe this is what you were looking for.

Question... How did you post that barcode? Where did you get it?

Download Barcode Scanner from the Market. Works great off the computer screen.
