Phone keeps turning off when getting a call from only one specific number...
 

Hello everyone my brother-in-law called me and said that when he receives a call from my sisters phone (she doesn't have an Evo and her carrier is Verizon) his Evo turns off. He said it happens only when she calls and he is able to recreate it and did so for a Sprint rep., at an actual store 5 times. They told him they have not seen this before and they told my brother-in-law to delete her contact info off his phone. That did not work so they reset his phone but has anyone else experienced this or knows of someone who has? We are in the SF Bay Area and he has a hardware version 002 Evo and got it on launch day. Thanks for the help in advance...:)

Very odd problem... factory reset seems like a good solution... worst case: exchange it.

So his phone shuts itself off every time his wife calls?

Does he talk to other verizon people on the device? If he does then I would do an exchange or if you can (dont know much about android yet) reload the android software on the device....

Otherwise, if it happens with other verizon people it might be a network issue..

On a real note... did the hard reset fix it? Does he have a weird picture for her? ringtone?

I am gonna request Sprint add this "Family Locator" function to my phone.

You could also use mobile defense which is free... in fact, installing as a system app will allow you to remotely turn on the GPS on it.

Mobile Defense will tell me where my family is so I can avoid them and also reboot my phone when they call?
