How is the speaker/speakerphone?
So, as many of you previous HTC Touch Pro owners know, the speakerphone and speaker (for music/ringtones) on the TP was not exactly of decent quality compared with other phones and also wasn't exactly the loudest or best sounding when using a fix. How does the EVO compare? Did they use better hardware? Is the speakerphone loud and clear and can the other person hear you pretty well? What about music playing? (mp3s or pandora?)
Thanks for the feedback. I'm seriously considering making the jump, but want to know what I'm getting. |
Re: How is the speaker/speakerphone?
Don't remember what speaker was like on the original tp, but i can't complain about the EVO's speaker. It's not as good as the touch pro2's in my opinion, but it's good. There are a lot of really bad speakers on phones out there.

Yeah, my friend has a basic blackberry and his speaker and pandora sound so much better than mine. I'm still up in the air here.

Re: How is the speaker/speakerphone?
I've had a Mogul, Diamond, TP, TP2, Hero and now the EVO...
I don't even remember the Mogul. The TP and the Diamond had the same crappy one. It worked, but not super great. The TP2 had the best one out of them all for sure. The Hero was better than the TP/Dia...and about par with the Evo. It's not great but it gets the job done. |
Re: How is the speaker/speakerphone?
If you sit it on a hard surface using the kickstand it sounds pretty damn good. The table will actually amplify the music. I use it as a mini boombox when I'm cooking.

What do you do to keep the bass from rattling the pictures of the walls? LOL \\:D/ |
Re: How is the speaker/speakerphone?
Okay, that definitely helps. Thanks for your input, everyone! I'm just going to continue researching and see where that takes me. I'm so used to having the slide-out keyboard for texting, I'm afraid it'll be a learning curve losing that.
