How to Check if I am still rooted?
 

This might be a stupid question,,, and I have searched but I cannot find anything. Now I used Toast' root, and from what I understood it is sticky, I am still having the wifi tether problem, so I just wanted to make sure my phone was still rooted. How can I check this? Is it in the software settings or where? Thank you in advance

if you download titanium backup from the market, when u launch the app, it checks for root, and will say OK if rooted.

what trouble are you having w/ wifi tether?

Open terminal app. your prompt should be $. Type in "su" and hit Enter. If prompt changes to #, you are rooted. If you get "Access denied", you are not.

I rooted via toast, Then I used your radio update, did everything step by step, and when I lauch wifi tether, NO GO! I have the newest wifi tether, so I know it is not that. But it will not work at all,, I have read about something call superuser access, or something like that,,, But I have no clue what they are talking about,,, "enable superuser" any help would be greatly appricated. Thank you again

are you still on the stock rom or a custom rom. You need to have a app called Superuser permissions, when u open the app, it will show you which apps have superuser/root access. also, you need to make sure that USB debugging is turned on @ menu/settings/applications/development.

if you're on the stock rom, I would recommend either a custom rom or installing the superuser app if u dont already have it installed....let me know if u need it.

OMJ thank you so much, You have been very helpful, Yes that app would be very appricated, I am going to update the usb debugging right now. I tried to search for the superuser app,, and I couldnt find one anywhere,, There was one from the market (whitelisted or something like that) but it didnt work. Thank you again

OMJ here is whereI am at now. I found the superuser app, from xda. I think it was version 2.1. I installed it (there were 4 of them on there) I did the top one. Then I installed the wifi tether. Tried to do it again,, and still getting the same error message from wifi tether (unable to start). I opened superuser app, and there was nothing on there. So I am going to wait for you to direct me in the app direction first,, and then go from there. Thank you again
