Re: Battery Life After Official Froyo OTA Update on 8/2

My phone will not sleep after the update. I also noticed that the market is not correct, it does not show my downloaded apps. I'm reformatting fresh today, and installing apps one by one.

Re: Battery Life After Official Froyo OTA Update on 8/2

I pointed it out in another thread but the issue for me was the switch pro widget. As soon as I deleted it my phone went to sleep.

Downloaded installed Froyo around 1am and battery life is a beast when phones idle, it now 2pm and I have over 80% battery. I'm pretty sure rooted Roms will have even better battery tweaks.

Re: Battery Life After Official Froyo OTA Update on 8/2

I found that the standard battery best practices needed to be followed again. For instance, Google Talk needed to have auto sign in turned off again.

=D> Bravo

On a similar note I use my phone for about 8 hours straight daily, calls, text (I do roughly 30k a month), e-mails, browsing the net and I still have about 40% of my battery left when I get home from work. Battery life is good.

Great Find. I was pulling my hair out with the dual up time and awake time. While LED Light works ok with 2.2 functionally, I happened to uninstall it because of the built in Flashlight, and wham, my Up Time and awake time are now working right.

Crazy part is it seems like i'm actually gonna be able to keep sync on during the day now without having to worry about the battery. Ever since my sleep issue was fixed my battery is beasting.

You might have to reboot the phone after the LED Light uninstall.

Just go to Menu/settings/applications....go to manage applications and select the tab that says Running. You can shot down anything that is running. Simple.

On the topic note, my battery is lasting way longer than before. Seems to hold alot better.

U do have it installed but i read somewhere that ATK didn't work with froyo cuz it would just stop the programs but they would fire back up which in case used more battery to close and then keep restarting the programs!

Are there any other programs besides LED light that are known to cause issues? My up time and awake time are still identical after uninstalling it and even rebooting.

Re: Battery Life is a beast on Netarchy rooted froyo

I had excellent battery life when I was running Fresh 1.01 (2.1). I've been running a few 2.2 Froyo Roms and they are all zapping my battery. Task killers are not working with Froyo (at least not that I've found so far). At 2 hrs of minimal use I am down to the low 80s, sometimes 70s percentile. It is so frustrating. I was once only charging overnight and wouldn't need to charge again until bedtime....not even during the day. Now I am having to charge at least twice daily with hardly any use. I am going to try this ROM in hopes the battery life is indeed better.

Battery Issues with (Froyo)

Hey, i think it would be helpful to list any known apps thats sucking down battery life on the EVO after the update...i noticed in another post that people realized that if the app aint update Froyo could be having a hard time with it and it keeps running. Advance Task Killer is not updated to Froyo yet and as of right now its doing more harm than good. Im not sure what else is out there but my battery is dying fast and im trying to figure out which app it is. I dont have LED Light, so thats not it.

Beautiful Widgets was causing my phone awake issues after the update. Uninstalled it and all is fine.

My battery life is even worse I believe. I was streaming via BT in my car using Pandora for about an hour and a half and that took 45% of my battery life. I feel like that's not good.

its something going on thats killing the battery, and i've been watching my phone closely to see what it is...I know i was running Mario Live Wallpaper and it was killing my battery...i unistalled it and its working a little better but its still draining waaaay faster than it was on 2.1

I had ATK setup for auto-kill and also noticed more battery drain than expected. In casual observation my battery life has improved since disabling auto-kill.

I recall reading a while ago that FroYo woould better handle running apps reducing if not eliminating the need for task killers.

I've placed a Running Services shortcut on my home screen.

My battery seems to be lasting about the same as 2.1; about 20~24 hours per charge.

might just be me be but im getting poor battery life from baked snacks latest

Just installed it last night and after running all the default with minor internet usage I lost 85% after four hours. Now I know not all time are created perfect and equal but I was just wondering what every one else's experience with battery is like on this. I'm gonna recharge again, make a few tweeks and try it again...

Just to be clear, your saying you installed a 3rd party program that shows running services and you have put that app shortcut on your homescreen?

you should probably post this in the thread where you got the ROM then. Not create ANOTHER battery thread.
