Backup application data?

I'm not planning on rooting until we have a good Froyo build, but eventually, I will, and I want to know how to back up application data, if at all possible.

I have games installed that I want to keep the high scores and/or progress achieved and restore after a flash. Can this be done?

The only thing I know of that backs up most of the stuff (not sure of game scores, usually those you have to start over), is Sprite Back up. It works for android 1.5+ this is the newest version i can find. Hope this helps. Oh by the way this is what it tells me that it backs up
  • Contacts (compatible with sync)
  • System Settings
  • SMS
  • Calendar (compatible with sync)
  • Call Logs
  • Bookmarks
  • Home screens
  • Alarms
  • IM and settings
  • MMS
  • Application Settings
  • Apn Settings
  • Photos
  • Music (tracks, playlists, album art and more)
  • Ringtones
  • User Dictionary
Hope this helps!!

Thanks, but I don't think Sprite or MyBackup (the one I use) backs up the actual data created as the games are played. :(

Titanium is the best for apps. I can definitely confirm that one.

i would use titanium back up cuz sprite says they do all that, but they really don't , at least the one i have and it doesn't back up user dictionaries nor contacts that are synced, I really use it for app setting and call logs, but I know Titanium backsup apps

Re: Backup application data?

I know it backs up the actual apps, so does MyBackup. But what I want is all the saved game data...like the levels I completed. When I restore, I lose all that when I have to reinstall the app.

Titanium restores everything on my phone. Every setting and app and app data. It is the Bees Knees!

So is you're playing a game and you get to level 20, then do a hard reset, your backup file puts you on level 20 of that game again?
