I tried that app (QIK) and i can swicth from back camera to front camera with no problems.

I don't know if this is related but my wife was using ATK and it made her camera crash.she un installed it, reset, and camera went back to normal

I am still on stock. I have installed fring but I uninstalled it yesterday. I do have ATK so I might try uninstaling that. If not I am going to reflash and root

Just cleared storage and still having problems... I am trying to flash the rom from my pc and that's not working either.

Fring was causing the issue on two of the evos I have after shutting it down or unistalling the app I have not had the issue since. Did you reboot after installing? Leave the battery out for a good two minutes

just FYI, I have both ATK and Fring installed w/ no camera issues

Well, after going into camera settings I decided to see if changing the resolution before changing the camera would help and if I change the resolution to 1M then I can switch cameras without a problem. This is the only way i can find to get the camera working.

If anyone would like to help me find out how to fix my other problem, Your time would be greatly appreciated. I cannot flash even a stock rom. When I start the RUU it goes through all the way up to the bootloader and the phone screen turns black with a white htc logo. Then I get and error code... The Error 170 USB code. This stops the installer.
