I'm not rooted yet, but the power cycling is sure fast compared to the TP2, back to ready to get back to work. Dern Sense on TP2 was hanging up for like 10 minutes, this thing, from power button press ON is ready in 1 minute.

Re: soft reset

I haven't tried this on the Evo yet, but a couple times I dropped the TP2 hard on a ceramic tile floor or concrete, the back flew off, and the battery popped out. While that may seem like a "hard" reset, it actually counts as a soft reset.

Found this by searching some forums...
Hold both volume buttons, then hold power button for 5+ seconds. Just tried it and it looks like a soft reset to me; all my apps and settings are still there.
Somebody else want to try and report back?

I've always wondered why they don't have soft reset built into these OS's...On the TP2 you have to take the battery cover off and hit the red button the the side with the stylus...or download a app that does it. Weird you have to be rooted to be able to use the feature on Android...but heck..I guess someday someone will create a program to do it...hopefully Sprint.
