Will Froyo help the EVO??

Ive looked around and seen a bunch of update with froyo whoot whoot cant wait but i havent seen anything about improving battery life on the EVO or any device for that matter... Any ideas? Will it help or hurt it because of the new and improved features?

Re: Will Froyo help the EVO??

Watching videos about Froyo on Youtube, it doesn't seem that impressive. Even the HD2 browser beats it with flash turned off, as does Safari on the 3GS.

hmm well I get around 9 MFLOPS on a 2.1 ROM with JIT enabled and I get around 40 MFLOPS in froyo standard. There is definitely a performace gain in froyo..

I agree the browser pretty much sucks but I always use Dolphin HD anyway..

What videos are you watching. My Evo ad it is now already loads pages faster than my iPad. There are videos on YouTube that show the Evo loading pages faster than an iPhone 4. The froyo browser is really fast.

Re: Will Froyo help the EVO??

Yes, FROYO will increase speed at least two fold and it is supposed to bring many battery optimizations. I am personally holding out on root until FROYO for EVO is here.
