I hope this hasn't been posted. Since there is so much talk about battery usage, let's post what is known to help battery life.

ha i think i've seen you suggest that in here before... you must really hate that thing. i concur tho... friend stream, peep, news, stocks widgets should be removed or set to manual. Definitely don't have them updating too frequently. I don't even use them because i prefer the apps on market.

FriendStream is horrible, its almost worthless. Now FamilyStream would be nice if you can only have your family member in a stream box or other relevant people. They should have made it where you can select the people you want to see.

In sync settings. Unchecked the box for automatic updates every hour.

Side note: with my settings, my evo is at 65% after 17 hours. No exaggeration. I'm impressed. 7 of those hours were stand by. The other 10th was heavy use.

I turn off GPS access, removed friend stream, turn off auto brightness and set to 1/3rd (adjustable as needed, when needed). I make sure Bluetooth and 4G are also off. Remove Live Wallpapers. Limit weather updates to every 3 hours.

I watch battery status to keep an eye on other apps/widgets using too much battery.

I got about 72% left on my EVO after 12 hours use. Made about a dozen calls, random internet use, used gps a bit, uploaded 3 photos to facebook, got some SMS and gmail updates.
