tips on early upgrade or additional discount?

I know there are plenty of threads asking same questions. I'm willing to give up my sero and sign the everything data plan. I am not eligible for $150+rebate till august 2011. Any tips or suggestive how to get the evo for lowest price. Please share your thoughts or ideas this will help me. Wirefly has it for $189 for new accounts.

you're not a premier member?

I was also eligible in August (8/1). The most they will move back your upgrade date is 14 days and it's a strict policy now. I paid $50 ETF and got a new line added for the Evo.

If you are a premier customer you should be eligible for an upgrade every 12 months I believe. When I upgraded, I was still not able to on my primary account due to buying the Touch Pro 2 in September of 2009. What I did though (thanks to a tip from this site) was upgraded the line on my Air Rave account. Since the Air Rave uses a separate line of service, it is also elibigle to be upgraded which is how I got my EVO for 199.99 instead of 599.99 (at Best Buy).

Also I recommend calling Sprint and asking about your anytime chargeable minutes usage patterns as I realized I could drop down to the lower everything plan (69.99) and still have plenty of minutes leftover since I primarily call cell phones.

If you are a government employee, army, police officer, emt, fire fighter, etc. go to a Sprint Store and ask them for the discount code for your profession. Call Sprint and have them apply it to your account and you could also save some cash. I get 20% off every month and also had them waive the Air Rave 4.99/month recurring charge for life. I explained that my home is a dead zone and that I would like to stay with Sprint however since the air rave uses MY home router to gain access I felt that I should not have to pay an additional 4.99/month and they waived it. It's worth a shot but remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar!
