weather on the home screen

how can i get weather on the home screen? im coming from winmo where it still uses the htc sense skin. in winmo, you can select my location, and based on the gps location, it will show me the current weather for my location. on my evo 4g home screen, it shows "my location" but wen i click on it, it just brings me to the desk clock.

i also made sure that my gps is turned on

You must have turned some setting off or something. That's just weird. Mine worked right out of the box.

I had the same problem ..when I originally set it up ..make sure you enable the use my location setting ...from the homescreen hit.. menu>privacy>use my location...after selecting that open your programs and choose weather make sure you have your city or closet location selected then update it if u already have selected it...just give it a min to find you the weather should enventually update on your homescreen assuming you still have your weather clock widget still displaying ...try that hope it helps

Try putting the HTC clock widget on the home screen.

Re: weather on the home screen

ok, i was able to get it to show if i select a city, but if i dont and just select "current location" it does not show anything and just says My location. anyway to get it to work with my location? gps works, i was able to use google maps and it found my position right away.

check and see if your background data is enabled in the Account & Sync menu.

I had the same problem...background data sync was turned on...turned on gps....still no go...finally booted up google maps...then hit refresh....it kicked in immediately. Btw...time and location set for automatic...tried manual...no dice.

Doesn't matter where you click when it says what his says. It will go to the clock. He has no weather to click.

Re: weather on the home screen

Regarding weather on the home screen, has anyone had this issue, I live in the Arlington, TX area, my home screen indicates Arlington for weather, but which Arlington city I'm not sure. I defined my city and it indicates two cities on the weather page however Arlington, TX is not the default. My EVO will not allow me to rearrange, set automatic update, set update schedule or delete the default Arlington city. The delete list only shows the Arlington, TX entry which I defined.

Any clues?

It sounds like the normal my location has you in Arlington, TX, is that not correct? If so then just delete the one you added (The only one you can delete), and you would be left with the my location option. (Since this has you in Arlington, TX it will show Arlington, TX.

Also has anyone been able to figure out why the weather app is only showing my location, instead of your actual location?

I just got my new evo yesterday from Sprint.com and I have it setup how I would like everything, so I really don't want to clear storage reset it, and I do have gps and Use GPS satellites under location in settings?

Any other ideas?

Edit: I fixed it by: Menu > Settings > Location > Use Wireless Networks to On.
Then Updated the weather on the home screen, then went back to use wireless networks and turned it off.
