hotspot question

Has anyone tested the hotspot feature with several different devices i.e. playstation 3? Never worked for me when using wmwifirouter since it essentially does computer to computer and ps3 doesn't support it.

I think it didn't work on the ps3 because the ps3 doesn't recognize a ad-hoc type of setup, the 360 does though, I have played many rounds of cod running off my tp2 wirelessly using wmwifirouter. Anyway as far as the hotspot goes thats not an ad-hoc setup so it should work flawlessly.

I have a question... Isn't the HotSpot feature FREE until later this month, or at the beginning of next month? If I use it now, will I have to call and cancel something, or will it just stop working once it becomes a paid service??

As far as the when, it's heard it'll be around July. After then you'll need to purchase the $30 Hotspot addon. As far as what will happen when the switch is flipped, I don't know. Sorry. Looking into that one.

Re: hotspot question

wmwifi router makes an adhoc network that ps3 will not use however the ipod will use it. the app from sprint is supposed to be a full wireless router.

Re: hotspot question

I believe it's only free for the first month when you are in a 4G coverage area. It won't work on 3G unless you pay for it. The exception to this is the google io device. Those of us that still have one on the google line have the hotspot free until June 20th.

Re: hotspot question

Can we get the hotspot feature free when we root the phone? Or will it just be ad-hoc free wifi tethering.
