Evo landscape problems
 

Since I got my evo I've been having problems with the keyboard not going into landscape mode when I tilt the phone. when i first got the phone and started to enter my exchange server info, i tried to flip to landscape with no success.. i figured maybe that you just couldnt go to landscape mode in that window. Then it happened again trying to reply to a text message. Ive rebooted the phone and also pulled the battery, yet it keeps happening... anyone else having this problem? any solutions?

if it matters, I DID accept the OTA update when i turned on the phone (I should of checked on here first, as my understanding is I may not be able to root my phone now)

besides this I LOVE the Evo.. it SO fast! although im still a total newb to android... is their any sort of FAQ out for this phone or android in general? I'm pretty technical but my 6 years of smart phone experience has been entirely with windows mobile.

Check your orientation settings in sounds & display. Make sure its checked. Also, recalibrate with g-sensor calibration.

Thanks for the help, but I already checked that "orientation" was checked off but I tried the recalibrate. we'll see if this helps.

ok so i cant seem to get this to go into landscape mode at all when trying to do a search by pressing the magnifying glass. anyone else have this problem? i tried a recalibrate and also powering off the phone...

also, how do you switch keyboards on this? I'm really missing my hardware keyboard.... I hope i can get the hang of this touch screen biz.

i too had this problem this morning i reset the phone 3 time and it seem to be workin ok now than again i been working all day today so i havnt been texting mcuch

I've been having the same problem....it works sometime and then it doesn't. If anybody had any suggestions please let us know .

well you cant go into landscape purely from the search softbutton from the homescreen because technically, youre still on the homescreen

you cant change orientation while the keyboard is open. if it's open, hit back to close it, flip the phone and hit the text field again. btw, sense does not go into landscape

yes you can. In what app exactly are you talkin about?

Switches just finefor me in browser, messages, and anything else i try with the keyboard already opened in portrait
