First impressions and Audible for Android

Got the phone this morning, unfortunately had the update installed so have not rooted it yet.. will wait for the guys at XDA. However, one of the first orders of business for me was to find and Audible client for Android.. I'm a huge audiobook consumer.

I found a beta with a little searching, there's a google group dedicated to it. Join the group, choose the non-email option and you get a link to download the beta.

I must say, the beta kicks the crap out of the antiquated WinMobile interface that audible has been supporting all these years. They need to take some time, a step back and update the windows client...

Overall, my few short hours with the device have been great. This thing is fast, the screen is huge, and it's about the same weight as my TP2. I'll have more fun with it over the weekend when I can play more...

Lastly, I am disappointed that I haven't been able to get a 4G connection yet. I work in North Miami Beach and according to the store this morning, Miami and most of Ft. Lauderdale are supposed to be covered... so am anxious to get a connection.

Anyone know if the internet connection sharing on the phone can tether like on the TP2 (not with phone as modem but through the existing data connection)?

Re: First impressions and Audible for Android

I also am a huge Audiobook fan and searched and found the Audible beta for Android. Its pretty nice. The only thing is, why cant it find audiobooks i've already downloaded and have on my SD card? Ive put the files in the right folder, and even downloaded them again in the enhanced format. Oh well, at least we have an Audible.com player on our Evos.
